Miyajima
Miyajima is a picturesque island situted near Hiroshima. You can find there one of the most famous views of Japan - great torii gate standing in the sea (floating torii).
The famous torii is a gate to Itsukushima Shrine - World Heritage.
This is the biggest attraction of the island but it`s not the only interesting place you can see there. Miyajima is a shrine island so many beautiful shrines can be seen there. View of torii gate depends on a tide, it`s of course the most impressive during the high tide. When I got there early in the morning, the great torii wasn`t `floating` so I decided to get there back later. I started my day from climbing on Mount Misen. It was really nice beginning of the day. On my way I met a lot of deers.
Close to the peak there were some beautiful shrines. From the peak (where I also met deers...) I could see amazing view on the sea, islands, cost and floating torii. After I got back down, the tide was high enough so I decided to go to Itsukushima Shrine. It was really unforgettable experience. The shrine was amazing and the torii looked astonishing. After that I took a stroll around the island. I visited many shrines and temples, but the most beautiful I saw in the afternoon. It was Daisho-in, it was really vast and impressive. I saw there thousands of Buddha statues. I spend whole day on Miyajima. I waited till sunset, which was really beautiful as a background for the floating torii.
