Mineko is 13th owner of Tondaya. She is carrying
original family business as Kimono wholesaler and opened to the public her house as Nishijin Lifestyle Museum when the house was resistered as National Cultural Asset. She is also running Kimono and Japanese
manner school, Wado-Kai to teach how to wear Kimono and Japanese mannaer. She has done many lectures and seminars about Japanese traditions and
their lifestyle in the old days. She was also an instructor at Doshisha
University in Kyoto and provides the lecture about Japanese sprit from
our ancestors to motivate students to preserve the beauty of Japan. Another
passion is to introduce Japanese culture and spirits to foreign people
thought various events and her activities. She had successfully done Kimono
Show, hold in Vancouver Canada in 2005 and in England 2008,2009. Also, she published
several books about kimono and Japanese sprits. Her aim is to tell and
preserve the traditional sprits that she felt and learn from her experience.
